Balvag House is in the village of Strathyre, which grew from a small hamlet when the railway arrived in the 1860s.

Deep in the Highlands, yet just over an hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow, you can have the best of both worlds - rural and urban.

Stirling, the nearest major town, is 40 minutes away, while Callander offers a wide range of shops and services - just a 15-minute drive.

Strathyre has three bars, three restaurants (one boasting 2 AA rosettes), a village shop and Post Office.
